As the Punch Newspaper reported, the price for marketers looking to purchase the product from the refinery declined by N20, from N990 to N970.

The group’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, made the revelation known on Sunday, noting that the price drop was to appreciate Nigerians as they wrap up the year.

“As the year comes to an end, this is our way of appreciating the good people of Nigeria for their unwavering support in making the refinery a dream come true.

In addition, this is to thank the government for their support as this will complement the measures put in place to encourage domestic enterprise for our collective well-being,” the statement read.

The communications officer also assured Nigerians that the refinery will continue to produce high-quality, sustainable, and ecologically friendly petroleum products without sacrificing quality.

“We are determined to keep ramping up production to meet and surpass our domestic fuel consumption; thus, dispelling any fear of a shortfall in supply,” the statement concluded.

“For instance, the current price in Maiduguri now is N1,200 per liter. So with these current changes, it may likely reduce to N1,150, which is a reduction of N50. So that’s N1,150. It may even be below that,” Abubakar Garima, the president of the independent oil marketers in Nigeria, had stated.
