In collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI), Cisco has inaugurated Egypt’s first Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Mobile Lab at its Cairo office.

Recognized worldwide as one of Cisco’s most prestigious certifications, CCIE represents a benchmark of advanced technical expertise in designing, implementing, and managing complex networks, an essential foundation in the age of artificial intelligence (AI).

The launch supports MCIT’s strategy to provide world-class technical training for the youth, helping them gain internationally recognized certifications and build a skilled workforce capable of accelerating Egypt’s digital transformation.

Dr. Ahmed Khattab, Director of the National Telecommunication Institute, affirmed that launching the CCIE Mobile Lab represents a qualitative leap in the training ecosystem in Egypt, as it allows Egyptian engineers to take one of the most difficult and prestigious global exams in a fully certified local environment, without bearing the costs of travel and accommodation abroad.

Cisco’s Senior Vice President and Global Innovation Officer, Guy Diedrich, said:

“The launch of the first CCIE Mobile Lab in Egypt is a powerful testament to the country’s commitment to digital readiness and building future talent. At Cisco, we believe talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. Through this collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and NTI, we are proud to bring world-class certification opportunities directly to Egypt’s brightest minds, fostering innovation, increasing employability, and accelerating Egypt’s digital future.”

Cisco and NTI have been partners for over 20 years, a collaboration that has equipped thousands of Egyptian engineers with advanced skills in networking and cybersecurity.

The first phase of assessments will run from September 21 to October 2, 2025.
