China & Iran Unveil 25-Year Cooperation Plan

Following the BRICS bloc’s six-country expansion, China and Iran have unveiled a 25-year cooperation plan. Indeed, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi recently discussed the plan, the growing commitment between both nations and the satisfactory approach to collaboration that they have embraced.

The BRICS bloc welcomed Iran with an invitation at last month’s 2023 annual summit. Accordingly, both Raisi and Chinese President Xi Jinping have unveiled a new partnership built around figure engagement. Moreover, the development has been closely connected to the country’s acceptance into the economic alliance.

China and Iran Deepen Cooperation as BRICS Members

The growing BRICS economic alliance has certainly become a key aspect of the geopolitical discourse this year. The bloc has seen its original five members join through a highly anticipated expansion. Therefore, Saudi Arabia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Argentina, Egypt, and Ethiopia were all invented.

Now, both BRICS nations—China and Iran—have unveiled a 25-year cooperation plan, according to recent reports. Subsequently, the plan has been described as a “beacon of future engagement” between both members.

The collaboration between both countries saw a notable increase following Iran’s invitation to the BRICS. Indeed, it allows both countries to embrace cooperation in global and regional aspects. Moreover, Iran’s inclusion in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has created new opportunities. Therefore, Iran has firmly embraced the bilateral and multilateralism of the cooperative efforts that both nations have sought. 

Iranian President Ebrahim Rais discussed the new cooperation and anticipated even more collaboration. Specifically, he noted that the two nations are expected to expand their partnership in nearly all areas. Therefore, presenting a greater bilateral relationship amidst the overall increase in BRICS cooperation following the expansion.
