Sponsorship to Support 2026 Safari Rally

CFAO Mobility Kenya has announced a sponsorship package of KES 48,535,200 to support the organisation and success of the 2026 World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally.

This year’s sponsorship strengthens CFAO’s commitment to developing motorsport in Kenya. Over the past six years, the company has invested more than KES 153 million in the rally. The partnership also reinforces Toyota’s strong legacy in the championship, where it has secured 12 titles across different WRC eras.

Commitment to Motorsport Development

Speaking during the official cheque handover ceremony, CFAO Mobility Kenya Managing Director Arvinder Reel reaffirmed the company’s long-term commitment to community development and grassroots motorsport.

“Our commitment goes beyond sponsorship. We are investing in the growth of motorsport and will continue to support initiatives that nurture young talent and elevate Kenya’s rally standing on the global stage,” he said.

Investment in Rally Training and Youth Talent

CFAO Mobility Kenya has also invested in the Safari Rally Training School Project to nurture future rally talent. The company donated two rally cars to support the programme.

Kenyan automotive engineers and technicians developed the FIA-approved Toyota Starlet rally cars according to Rally 5 international standards. The project cost a total of KES 34.5 million. The President of Kenya officially received the vehicles at State House, highlighting the country’s commitment to motorsport development.

Cross Car Project for Young Drivers

CFAO Mobility Kenya also built a prototype Cross Car to support junior rally drivers aged 12 to 17. The project aims to nurture the next generation of Kenyan rally talent from the grassroots level.

The company invested KES 3.7 million to build the Cross Car according to FIA standards. For the first time in Kenya, young drivers will use the vehicle to develop rally skills through a structured training pathway.

Rally Training Curriculum Partnership

To strengthen local rally training, CFAO Mobility Kenya partnered with South Africa’s Botterill Motor Sport to develop a rally training curriculum.

The programme includes a training camp for local drivers and navigators. Organisers will also hand over the curriculum to the Safari Rally Secretariat to ensure the project continues after the rally.

Government Recognition

CFAO Mobility Kenya also hosted an exclusive meet-and-greet session with drivers from the Toyota Gazoo Racing Team.

Principal Secretary for Sports Elijah Mwangi praised the company for its contribution to motorsport development.

“I commend CFAO Mobility Kenya for investing in grassroots motorsport. Their donation of two Toyota Starlets, support for the Rally Academy training curriculum, and development of Kenya’s first affordable FIA Cross Car at the KVM plant will help build local motorsport talent and technical capacity,” he said.

Drivers and Rally Legends in Attendance

Drivers present included Elfyn Evans, the current championship leader and 2025 Safari Rally winner, as well as Rally Sweden winner Sami Pajari. Legendary rally driver Juha Kankkunen, who won the Safari Rally in 1985, also attended the event as Deputy Team Principal.

Reel also highlighted CFAO Mobility’s continued involvement in the rally. He noted that the Toyota Hilux has served as the “double zero” and “triple zero” opening cars since the Safari Rally returned to Kenya.

According to Reel, the selection highlights the Hilux’s proven quality, durability, and reliability. CFAO Mobility Kenya remains committed to supporting motorsport while expanding mobility solutions across the country.
