Captivating International Art Group Exhibition Unveils a Tapestry of Aquatic Inspirations in The Artists Gallery, Cape Town

CAPE TOWN, 18 January 2024 — This season, art enthusiasts in Cape Town are in for a treat as The Artists Gallery Cape Town proudly presents its first exhibition of 2024, “WaterBeach.” This immersive showcase brings together a collection of evocative paintings, each a celebration of the mesmerising union of water and beach.
The gallery, nestled in the heart of Cape Town on 34 Bree Street, will be transformed into a sanctuary of aquatic wonders from 9 February to 20 February 2024. Visitors can expect to be transported to the serene beauty of contemporary art through a diverse array of artworks that expertly capture the essence of water in its many forms.

Exhibition Highlights:

Diverse Perspectives: “WaterBeach” features a curated selection of artworks from four established artists, each offering a unique perspective on the theme. From abstract scenes to dynamic seascapes, the exhibition promises a rich tapestry of artistic expressions.

Mediums and Styles: The artists have employed a range of mediums and styles, including oil, and acrylic paintings as well as digitally created works. This diversity not only showcases the versatility of the artists but also adds depth to the exhibition, creating a visual feast for every art lover.

Local and International Talent: The exhibition is a testament to the vibrant art scene in Cape Town, with featured artists hailing from the local community: internationally acclaimed Cornè Theron who was granted a talent visa for working in France in 2019, abstract painter Jaime Danielle Smith who is currently living in Germany as she married a German, and Marli Steyl, also from Cape Town. Additionally, the inclusion of international artist Mo Kilders from Germany, adds a global dimension to the showcase, fostering cultural exchange and relationships through art.

Dates: 9 February – 20 February 2024

Gallery Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10 am – 5 pm
Saturday 10 am – 2 pm. Closed Wednesday & Sunday and by appointment for groups or private gatherings. 

Admission: Free and open to the public.

About The Artists Gallery: The Artists Gallery, which opened 01 July 2023 is a vibrant art space in the heart of Cape Town dedicated to showcasing a diverse range of contemporary artworks. Co-founded, co-owned and run by artists, the gallery has a strong commitment to fostering creativity and cultural exchange. The gallery provides a platform for predominantly local artists but invites international artists from time to time.
