Bronny James is back home and in good spirits after his health scare. The incoming freshman on USC’s basketball team and eldest son of LeBron James was discharged from the hospital on Thursday following his cardiac arrest during practice on Monday.
LeBron James took to Instagram on Saturday to share a heartwarming video of Bronny at home, smiling and playing the piano, with his siblings Bryce and Zhuri by his side. The proud father captioned the post with, “GRAND RISING!! God Is Great! @bronny YOU ARE AMAZING!!! Simple as that! Keep going Young king !!! We’re here right with you every step of the way!”
After the incident, Bronny was seen for the first time since at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, Calif., having dinner with his family on Friday. The exact cause of Bronny’s cardiac arrest remains unknown. The incident occurred at USC’s Galen Center, and he was swiftly transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by ambulance.
Dr. Merije Chukumerije, a cardiologist from Cedars-Sinai Medical Group, released a statement expressing their quick response and successful treatment of Bronny: “Thanks to the swift and effective response by the USC athletics’ medical staff, Bronny James was successfully treated for a sudden cardiac arrest. He arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center fully conscious, neurologically intact and stable. Mr. James was cared for promptly by highly-trained staff and has been discharged home, where he is resting. Although his workup will be ongoing, we are hopeful for his continued progress and are encouraged by his response.”
King James expressed his gratitude
LeBron James also expressed his gratitude to everyone who sent love and prayers to his family during this difficult time. He tweeted, “I want to thank the countless people sending my family love and prayers. We feel you and I’m so grateful. Everyone doing great. We have our family together, safe and healthy, and we feel your love. Will have more to say when we’re ready, but I wanted to tell everyone how much your support has meant to all of us!”
Bronny, a 6-foot-3 guard and a four-star recruit, previously excelled at Sierra Canyon in high school. His father, LeBron James, praised the hospital’s staff for their exceptional care and support.
