UK-based tech firm HBK has developed an “ultra-compact” inertial navigation system (INS) designed to support high-precision localization in autonomous military platforms.
Built by its subsidiary MicroStrain, the 3DM-CV7-GNSS/INS combines dual-frequency Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers with inertial sensors in a tiny, embeddable unit.
It also includes a temperature calibrator and an onboard linear correction algorithm to help maintain accuracy across changing conditions.
