The British Army has received 217 trucks as part of a 2024 project to increase the service’s heavy tactical support fleet.
The trucks include Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicle systems designed for moving weapons, munitions, equipment, water, and food across the battlefield.
The contract for this expansion is valued at 282 million pounds ($380.4 million) and covers the delivery of 500 platforms.

Each truck is powered by a EURO 5 engine, has off-road capability, can travel at 62 miles (100 kilometers) per hour, and has an operational range of 300 miles (483 kilometers).
The military is scheduled to receive the remaining vehicles under the package this autumn.
‘Highly Capable’ Fleet
According to the UK defense procurement agency, the fielding of these new vehicles began last year, and they are now being utilized by personnel of the 7 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps, an Abington-based unit tasked with supplying materiel and goods across the army.
Alongside logistics, the 500-troop formation provides driver support, communication, maintenance, and catering services.
“The scale and pace of the acquisition and fielding of the vehicles has been truly impressive and troops who have been putting them through their paces on road and off road have found the vehicle to be highly capable,” said Maj. George Holdcroft, a squadron commander in the regiment.
“They have been impressed by the increased power and responsiveness of the trucks and the drivers have also been impressed by the first-class cameras to improve visibility.”
