BRICS Confirm Over 40 Heads of State Attending Annual Summit

With the event only five days away, BRICS has confirmed that over 40 heads of state are currently set to attend the annual summit. Indeed, a briefing from Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the leaders currently traveling to take part in the event. 

Moreover, the report noted that the 40 heads of state are from the African and Asian continents, as well as Latin America and the Middle East. Additionally, the alliance is set to feature 23 countries that are seeking entry into the bloc. With those countries having previously made membership requests.

40 Heads of State En Route to BRICS Summit

This event is set to be one of the most important in the history of the economic alliance. Indeed, the upcoming BRICS annual summit will see the alliance define some of its most important decisions. Verifying the trajectory for the coming year and beyond. 

Indeed, with the event just days away, BRICS has confirmed that more than 40 heads of state are set to attend the annual summit. Specifically, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil seemingly confirmed the figure. Doing so in a recent briefing regarding its attendance at the event.

Of these 40 heads of state, the bloc has received informal or formal membership requests from 23 of them. These include countries like Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Iran, and Egypt. Subsequently, Brazil states that the guidelines or expansion are set to be discussed.

“They’ll talk about criteria and standards to be adopted to inform the entry of new members into the group,” the briefing stated. Additionally, they confirmed local currencies to be a vital talking point. Specifically, addressing the continued maneuver away from the US dollar.
