US tech giants Booz Allen Hamilton and Shield AI are teaming up to provide cutting-edge autonomy solutions to enhance US military uncrewed systems capabilities.
The partnership will combine Shield AI’s Hivemind platform with Booz Allen’s mission engineering expertise to usher in a “new era of AI-enabled, software-defined” autonomous systems.
“The resulting collaboration will accelerate the development and integration of advanced AI control systems and autonomy into a wide variety of uncrewed systems, enabling their rapid deployment into threat scenarios,” the two companies noted.
The Hivemind software is designed to autonomously pilot vehicles — ranging from kamikaze drones to F-16s — and supports swarming operations.
It also ensures uncrewed systems continue functioning even when GPS and communications are jammed.
‘An Edge Over Adversaries’
Booz Allen vows to bring its “exceptional tech superiority” to the partnership to drive results, reduce costs, and ensure operational efficiency.
With trusted partners across the commercial tech ecosystem, the company aims to build and scale solutions essential for maintaining America’s technological edge.
“The best technology is useless unless it can be quickly and seamlessly deployed in real-life, high-stakes environments,” Shield AI President Brandon Tseng stated.
“That’s why we chose to partner with Booz Allen. They know the technology, they understand what warfighters need, and they can see to it that we swiftly accomplish this mission.”
Together, Shield AI and Booz Allen seek to provide the US military with a significant “edge over adversaries,” enhancing the protection of troops in complex and dynamic operational environments.
