Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Myles Jack is set to hang up his cleats and call it a day on his NFL career after seven season in the league, according to reports.

Jack openly addressed the possibility of changing his career as recently as at the Eagles‘ training camp, having joined the roster only a little over two weeks ago.

NFL Network say that he has now taken the decision to end his career as a football player.

“I like to work, I couldn’t sit at home,” he told The Athletic recently.

“I’ve been blessed to make a lot of money. I could retire and sit at the house.

“But, I want to be innovative. If a Zombie apocalypse came, I want to be able to build something.”

Eagles already have cover for Myles Jack

Fortunately for the Eagles, they do have options and Nakobe Dean will take up the role of middle linebacker when back to full fitness.

He’ll play alongside Nicholas Morrow and Haason Reddick to help form a strong unit for the Eagles in the new season.

Myles Jack’s NFL career

Jack was a promising linebacker when he started out with the Jacksonville Jaguars before moving to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022.

He was drafted by the Jaguars in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of UCLA, showing that he was a versatile player who could play both inside and outside linebacker.

Jack was a good pass rusher and the Eagles had hoped he would add depth when he joined earlier this month, but he is now set to hang up his cleats.
