Bayobab Appoints Mohamed Abdelbassit as Chief Communication Platforms Officer

Bayobab has appointed Mohamed Abdelbassit as its new Chief Communication Platforms Officer (CCPO). Abdelbassit will report directly to Mazen Mroué, CEO of MTN Digital Infrastructure.

Abdelbassit brings over 25 years of experience in the ICT and international wholesale telecoms sectors, with a strong track record in mobility services and digital infrastructure across the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa.

Previous Leadership Change: Bayobab Appoints Mazen Mroué as CEO of MTN Digital Infrastructure

His leadership journey includes senior roles at Liquid Intelligent Technologies, where he served as Chief Wholesale Officer and Regional CEO for the Middle East & West Africa. During his tenure, he led the launch of a new fiber operation, established an international data center in Nigeria, and oversaw the rollout of major connectivity projects across the continent.

Earlier in his career, Abdelbassit played a pivotal role at BICS, expanding its footprint across the MENA region, and held leadership positions at GBI and MACH (now Syniverse).

Commenting on the appointment, Mazen Mroué, CEO of MTN Digital Infrastructure, said:

“We are excited to welcome Mohamed to the Bayobab leadership team. His deep industry expertise and strong network will be instrumental in driving our strategic ambitions forward.”

Abdelbassit holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. He is also CCNA-certified.
