Baykar will integrate EDGE’s guided munitions and payloads with its unmanned platforms under a cooperation agreement signed at the Saha Expo 2024 in Istanbul.

Baykar will lead the integration effort, while UAE-based EDGE will provide technical assistance, including designing, manufacturing, and supporting the required equipment.

“This initiative aims to meet market demand swiftly and effectively, ensuring supply chain security and delivering high-performance solutions for their customers,” an EDGE press release stated.

The two groups are already collaborating to integrate Edge’s Desert Sting DS-16 precision-guided munition with Baykar’s Bayraktar TB2 drone.

The recent development builds on the January initiative with a framework for further integration efforts.

“By integrating our advanced solutions onto Baykar’s proven UAS platforms, we can respond swiftly to evolving market demands while further enhancing the capabilities we deliver to our customers,” EDGE Managing Director and CEO Hamad Al Marar said.

“Additionally, this partnership underscores the strategic importance of working with Türkiye’s well-established companies and leveraging its robust defense ecosystem.”

EDGE manufactures two Desert Sting variants (DS-25 and DS-16) and the RASH – 3H.

DS-25 weighs 36 kilograms (79 pounds), while the DS-16 weighs 28 kilograms (62 pounds).

The DS-16 features global navigation satellite systems and a semi-active laser configuration with a range of 15 kilometers (9.3 miles). It has a 12-kilogram (26.5 pounds) warhead.

The RASH – 3H, meanwhile, weighs 33 kilograms (73 pounds) and has a speed of 685 kilometers (425 miles) per hour.

It has a wingspan of 1.4 meters (4.59 feet) and a maximum altitude of 25,000 feet (7,620 meters).
