Seed treatments are a powerful, efficient, and safe tool helping farmers to protect their seedlings during their most vulnerable stages of growth, especially during the first couple of weeks after planting.

In addition, seed treatments are highly targeted and reduce the overall use of crop protection products and the exposure of non-targeted species. This makes seed treatments an important tool for sustainable agriculture.

Speaking at a ceremony during Nampo Cape on Thursday morning, Liza Bohlmann, communications business partner at Bayer Crop Science, pointed out that the 111 years’ experience has given Bayer an in-depth understanding of crop pests and diseases, seed treatment products, and market needs.

“Building on our 111-year history as seed treatment pioneers, we are proud to offer our market-leading portfolio of treatments to customers in South Africa. Our product range spans a wide range of crops, and incorporates fungicides, insecticides, [and] nematicides, as well as biological tools. Additionally, we can also create tailored treatment packages to address the specific needs of our customers,” said Bohlmann.
