Remember to focus your health this Eid ul-Adha. Keep in mind these crucial health advice for a happy celebration, check here

New Delhi: Eid is a joyous occasion celebrated by Muslims around the world and marked by festive gatherings and celebrations with family and friends. However, maintaining blood sugar levels while consuming the customary Eid snacks can be difficult for people with diabetes. But don’t worry! With tasty, healthy, and diabetes-friendly dishes, you can add even more unique touches to your Eid without worrying about your blood sugar levels rising.

You may still enjoy the pleasures and customs of Eid while still staying on track with your health objectives if you use a little ingenuity and make thoughtful food selections. Prepare to celebrate Eid with some delicious dishes that are ideal for this unique occasion, as well as flavour and health.

One may easily maintain their weight management during festival seasons, said Dr Tina Sapra, a dietitian at Fortis Hospital. According to experts, eating one meal heavily and the other two light is the first and most important thing to remember. It is still advisable to consume a meal, it simply makes sense to eat a lighter one. Eat a lighter lunch if you need to go to supper. You can monitor your weight and calorie consumption in this way.

Here is a list of some crucial points to have in mind if you want to consume delicious cuisine in a healthy way:

Choose grilled over fried food

It will be tastier, crispier, and healthier to pick baked or grilled meat with only a brushing of oil rather than fried meat such as fried mutton, fried liver, or kebabs.

Include more veggies and fibre in dishes

Include additional vegetables with the meat in the form of grilled or sautéed vegetables, salads without creamy dressings, or other dishes to make the meat meal healthier and easier to digest. Make fruits your closest friends as well because their fibre content will aid in the body’s detoxification process and maintain your stomach healthy. Fruits also aid in preventing sugar cravings and prolonging feelings of fullness.

Avoid sugar-sweetened drinks and sugary sweets

If you want to cut back on calories and fat and especially if you are diabetic then it is better to avoid sweet dishes.  While also avoiding empty calories from sweet drinks, stay away from sugary meals. Fruit juices should be used in their place.

Take small frequent meals

Have modest, frequent meals to maintain a healthy stomach instead of binge-eating one big meal. Keep an eye on your portion sizes as well because portion management solves the majority of problems.
