FundAccess is cautioning Barbadians to be on alert for fraudulent Facebook and Instagram pages that are attempting to extort money from unsuspecting individuals.
In a recent statement, the agency revealed that scammers are targeting persons through fake social media profiles, falsely claiming to represent FundAccess.
The fraudulent accounts are soliciting individuals to apply for personal loans, requesting personal and banking information, and demanding payments to facilitate loan approval.
FundAccess has reminded the public to remain vigilant.
It stressed that it does not offer personal loans, request payment for loan approval, or solicit or collect sensitive information through social media channels.
