BAE Systems has signed a $92-million deal with the US Navy to continue providing logistical services for its air traffic control and landing systems.
The five-year indefinite-delivery-and -quantity contract covers fleet services, technical support, and operational software development with maintenance for capabilities in the US Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command, and international customers.
Upkeep for the systems will be conducted in Maryland, Virginia, and California.
Modernizing The Force
BAE Systems Integrated Defense Solution vice president Lisa Hand explained that the upkeep for the Navy’s Air Traffic Control & Landing Systems Operations Onboard Navy Ship and Shore-Based Sites (AOOSS) will refurbish the systems into more modern, up-to-date defense capabilities.
“Since 1993 we have been providing technical and engineering services for AOOSS worldwide. For those 30 years we have worked closely with our customers to bolster their readiness: a legacy we’re very proud of. We’re equally proud to continue to support this mission moving forward,” she said.
The company’s modernization efforts have covered many of the US armed forces’ fronts.
Back in November, it secured a 5-million contract to develop electronic warfare solutions for the US Navy.
It also partnered with military equipment company Mack Defense to provide fuel-saving solutions for the US Army’s modular tactical trucks.
