22 August 2025 | Eswatini
On 22 August, ATAF undertook an in-country mission in Eswatini advancing its ongoing technical assistance programme with the Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) on transfer pricing audits.
Over the course of the mission, ATAF’s international tax experts supported ERS auditors in progressing three audit cases across critical industries, including the mining sector. This forms part of a three-year programme that blends in-person missions with monthly virtual engagements to strengthen audit capacity and ensure continuous progress on complex cases.
Through this long-standing partnership, ATAF has supported ERS in strengthening capacity across audit, data governance, and policy, empowering staff to lead on transfer pricing, tackle VAT fraud, and conduct complex audits. The results speak for themselves: more than E14 million has been recovered in the insurance sector, and over USD 2 million raised through transfer pricing assessments.
ATAF will continue to provide monthly progress sessions complemented by two annual in-country missions, ensuring ongoing support to Eswatini and valuable lessons for the wider membership.
