2025 is coming to an end, and Forbes released its new list of the world’s 10 richest super billionaires. Nine out of the 10 rich-list hail from the US, while only one comes from France. Almost all of them built their wealth leveraging technology, except for the billionaire from France, who sold luxury goods. The AI boom set the tech billionaires on a new path and increased their wealth this year.

The report states that the 10 super billionaires mentioned in the list own over 62% of the world’s wealth. The enormous wealth is consolidated into a few hands while the others live paycheck-to-paycheck to make ends meet. It is reported that the world’s working class collectively owns only 2% of the global net wealth. The average is around $4,100 per adult per month, and they are nowhere close to the ultra-rich.

Only Warren Buffett in the list of super billionaires comes from an investing background. He built his empire in the stock market and trading in companies with a good reputation. The others come from the technology sector, building chips, social media apps, e-commerce, cloud computing, and search engines, among others. “The technology sector features prominently among the world’s wealthiest billionaires, with the AI boom driving recent strong gains in the portfolio valuations of US-based individuals such as Elon Musk, Larry Ellison, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and Larry Page,” the report said.
