In what is certainly a landmark collaboration, Apple has officially announced an OpenAI partnership that will integrate its popular ChatGPT system into iPhones. Indeed, the collaboration was announced at the WWDC 2024 Keynote, in what is a game-changing unveiling for both entities.

The partnership means that Apple’s digital assistant, Siri, will be given the generative AI capabilities of the OpenAI system. Moreover, that feature will be available at no cost to iPhone users as part of an iOS 18 update available later this year. The development will allow Apple to increase its competition in the generative AI space.

Indeed, Apple has officially announced a new partnership with OpenAI that will facilitate the integration of ChatGPt into the company’s iPhone products. The partnership was announced as Apple has been clear in its desire to compete in the generative AI space. It joined a plethora of firms like Amazon and X (formerly Twitter) seeking a greater market share. Apple is now able to make the system a key part of one of the market’s most popular devices.

The company had reportedly been in talks with both Google and OpenAI recently. The goal was to combine the iOS operating system with AI programs. It was ChatGPT that has now won out in a deal that should have a massive effect on Apple’s Siri program. The digital assistant will now be powered by a highly advanced generative AI system.
