The beaches. The restaurants. The resorts. The rum punch.

BermudAir will launch twice-weekly nonstop flights from Newark Liberty International Airport to Anguilla’s Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport beginning Dec. 18, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Flights are scheduled for Thursdays and Sundays, departing Newark at 10:30 a.m. and arriving in Anguilla at 4:00 p.m. The return service leaves Anguilla at 7:35 p.m., landing back in Newark at 11:00 p.m.

The Newark route is the third new U.S. service to Anguilla announced by the airline, joining nonstop flights from Boston and Baltimore/Washington also set to begin in December. Together, the additions expand access from the Northeast, one of Anguilla’s most important tourism markets.

It’s the part of a new tourism — and flight — boom that began in Anguilla back in 2021 when American Airlines launched what was, at the time, the only nonstop service between the US mainland and Anguilla.

“This new connection will make it easier than ever for visitors from key markets in the United States to experience our island’s natural beauty, luxurious accommodations, and rich cultural heritage,” said Anguilla’s minister of health, sports and tourism, Cardigan Connor.

The Newark service is “a tremendous win for Anguilla’s tourism sector and our valued visitors,” said the island’s director of tourism, Jameel Rochester, who added that having direct flights from Boston, Baltimore, and Newark gives travelers “more convenient access than ever” to the island.

Anguilla has long been a popular spot for travelers in Newark and the Tri-State area. If you’re a traveler from New York, New Jersey or Connecticut, this is a major boon.

BermudAir is marketing its Anguilla flights under the AnguillAir brand.

The expansion, according to founder and CEO Adam Scott, reflects growing demand for seamless travel to the destination and will “significantly boost tourism to Anguilla.”

Other New BermudAir Routes

The airline is also expanding its Bermuda network. This winter will see new year-round nonstop flights between Bermuda and both Newark and LaGuardia in New York, along with twice-weekly year-round service between Bermuda and Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut. BermudAir has also announced seasonal routes from Montreal, Richmond, and Providence to Bermuda as part of a broader push into key East Coast and Canadian markets.
