AMG PROJECTS invites art enthusiasts to immerse themselves in an extraordinary exhibition exploring the captivating relationship between subject matter and the visual landscape in which they exist. Oladotun Abiola, renowned for his eloquent adaptation of abstract figuration, unveils an explosion of hues emanating from his figures, enveloping the surrounding environment, and inviting viewers to become active participants. His highly detailed and ethereal paintings, predominantly composed in acrylic, captivate with their subtle gradations of colour, texture, and light. Abiola’s artworks serve as windows into the proverbial light within, generating shapes and movements that evoke emotional responses from the viewers.

In a complementary and contrasting fashion, Moyosore Jolaolu skilfully blends conflicting emotions in his artwork, juxtaposing solemn protagonists with vibrant backdrops. His works, which resonate with the fundamental ideas behind Abiola’s figurative abstraction, create an intriguing separation between the figures and their environments. Jolaolu’s expansive views capture the contemplative stillness of each figure, perfectly harmonising with the landscapes they inhabit. His robust palette and masterful use of angular lines serve as a connecting bridge, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of his creations. From the vibrant facades of slow-paced scenery to carefully chosen palettes accentuating familiar interior patterns, colour plays an indispensable role in Jolaolu’s interpretation of life.
