Air Industries Group has received an $11-million contract to deliver landing gear assemblies for the US Navy’s E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft.
The deal covers the undercarriage attached to a plane’s wheels to assist it during takeoff, landing, and taxiing.
Work for the project will begin in the second half of 2025, with the arrival of equipment expected by 2026.
“The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is a mission-critical platform for the US Navy, managing the airspace surrounding a Carrier Battle Group by identifying threats and coordinating aircraft movements,” Air Industries Group CEO Lou Melluzzo remarked.
“This contract grew in size during negotiations, reflecting the ongoing importance of the aircraft not only to the Navy but also to an expanding number of foreign military customers.”
Continuing Support for US Navy E-2 Platforms
The New York-based aerospace equipment manufacturer noted that the contract builds on the company’s long-standing partnership with the navy and its role as a key component supplier for the force’s E-2 family of aircraft “for decades.”

Air Industries received a $2.4-million order in May to supply spare landing gear assemblies for the US Navy’s E-2C Hawkeyes.
Another contract was signed in September 2023 for welding equipment, related tooling, and peripheral equipment to secure the tail hook of the military’s E-2Ds.
Two months earlier, Air Industries signed a $2-million contract to deliver arresting gear (landing support systems) for the planes.
