AgriSETA funding applications close on 15 September

AgriSETA allocates grants and bursaries to facilitate agricultural learnerships, skills programmes, tertiary studies and in-service training. It also supports apprentices, interns and mentorships.

It is important to note that students cannot directly apply to the AgriSETA for funding. Only applications from accredited training providers will be considered. Therefore, learners must apply through their relevant employer or training provider.

It must be noted that students receiving funding from NSFAS, NSF, SETAs and other funders may not be eligible for AgriSETA funding.

Funding can be applied for for the following allocations: graduate placements and internships, bursaries, artisan development and skills programmes (short courses must be unit standard based).

AgriSETA funding can also be used to support rural structures such as mentorships, commodity organisations, adult education and training (AET) and for learnerships.

The discretionary grants guidelines provide an indication of the value of the learning programme funding rates.

To ensure the quality of agricultural education, AgriSETA is also responsible for accrediting training providers and monitoring the standard of training. The AgriSETA website has provided a list of training institutions and their contact numbers.

Training providers are invited to register or update their details by contacting Mmbulaheni Matidza at [email protected].

For more information contact The AgriSETA on +27 (0) 12 301 5600 or via email at [email protected].
