The United States, given its economic potential, continues to attract people from all over the world, with some willing to get there even by the most unorthodox means.

This trend seems to be constituting an issue for the North American nation, as it now has to deal with a significant amount of illegal immigrants each year.

This issue has long been a priority for Donald Trump, who went all out to address it throughout his first term as president.

According to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as of November 24, 2024, there were 1,445,549 noncitizens on ICE’s non-detained docket with final removal orders.

This figure, while alarming, is a figure the U.S. hopes to reduce to zero in the coming months.

Donald Trump, who has promised to run an America-first government plans to carry out mass deportations, far more than the deportation cases recorded in the last four years.

For context, compared to the planned deportation of 1,445,549, the U.S. removed 271,484 noncitizens with final orders of removal to 192 different countries in 2024.

In the same year, according to a report by the U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), those deported last year included: “88,763 who had charges or convictions for criminal activity; 3,706 known or suspected gang members; 237 known or suspected terrorists; and eight human rights violators.”

Despite this, several African countries went untouched in the period under review, with zero deported citizens.

As for the U.S.’s current plan to deport 1,445,549, some these countries still boast significantly lower numbers of targets, emphasizing their natural tendencies to migrate the right way and or stay in their own countries or regions where they are highly welcomed.

Unfortunately, this is not entirely the case, as some countries with zero deportation in 2024, have seen a signifcant increase in the number of people set to be deported in 2025.
