The African Development Bank (AfDB) has forecasted a 4.1% growth rate for Africa in 2025, up from the 3.2% recorded in 2024. According to the organization, the growth will be driven by economic reforms across multiple nations, easing inflationary pressures, and better debt management. South Sudan is projected to have the most growth, with a staggering 34.4% surge, while Rwanda, Senegal, and Uganda are each set to expand by over 7%. However, Equatorial Guinea and Sudan are likely to see economic contractions. The AfDB’s forecast aligns with World Bank projections of robust growth of around 4.2% in sub-Saharan Africa. In its report, the bank also noted that 12 of the 20 fastest-growing economies in 2025 will be in Africa.
