JG AFRIKA EXCELS IN PRESTIGIOUS INDUSTRY AWARDS

JG Afrika, a renowned engineering and environmental consultancy with over a century of expertise, again excelled in prestigious industry awards in 2023, reaffirming the company’s unwavering commitment to excellence.

The company’s Revolutionary Approach to Urban Solid Waste management in Uganda was the winner of the 2023 South African Institution of Civil Engineering’s (SAICE) Outstanding Investigative/Report Studies Award.

Waseefa Ebrahim, an engineer at JG Afrika, won the Graduate of the Year Award, while the South32 Hillside Aluminium Water Resilience Evaluation and Optimisation Study received a highly commendable recognition in the Investigative/Report Studies category. In addition, two projects from JG Afrika reached the finals, a noteworthy achievement given the exceptionally high standards of the awards entries.

JG Afrika’s contribution to the Development of a National Faecal Sludge Management Strategy, using Polokwane Local Municipality as a case study, was a finalist in the Outstanding Investigative/Report category. Moreover, Harnessing Energy from Organic Waste through Innovative Engineering earned a finalist spot in the Most Outstanding Civil Project (Technical Excellence) category.

JG Afrika’s Harnessing Energy from Organic Waste through Innovative Engineering was also the winner of the AfriSam Innovation Award for Sustainable Construction, a category of the BEST Projects Awards, hosted annually by Construction World. SAICE’s National Engineering Awards and Construction World’s BEST Projects Awards again provided JG Afrika with an opportunity to showcase the extent of its skills and experience. The prestigious accolades and recognition that the company receives support its reputation and build on its credibility and legacy in the engineering industry.
