Wike flags off rehabilitation of 135 roads in FCT

Minister of the Feeral Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has officially flag off the resurfacing and rehabilitation of 135 roads in the territory.

On the occasion in Abuja, the FCT Minister in company of the Minister of State for FCT, Dr Mariya Mahmoud warned contractors handing the work to deliver the jobs within the stipulated time frame, as no sort of variation cost would be tolerated in the case of delay.

Wike who disclosed that the money for the project was readily available, said the administration would deliver the job within the next six months.

Permanent Secretary, Federal Capital Territory Administration, Olusade Adesola said the project would also take care of remedial works of some bridges with a view to making FCT better than what it used to be.

Executive Secretary, Federal Capital Development Authority explained that the road resurfacing will cover 42km stretch of deteriorating roads, some of which were last worked on in the 80’s.

The areas to undergo the resurfacing and rehabilitation work include; Garki, Wuse, and some parts of Maitama.
