During this phase of the off-season, the majority of NBA teams are focused on finalizing their rosters through signings that typically involve players for the end of the bench or those invited to training camp.

With the league’s new allowance of up to three two-way contracts per team, the stakes are high for some of the players attending training camps.

The Charlotte Hornets, for instance, have filled two of their available two-way contract spots, leaving one potential opening.

Charlotte Hornets sign Tre Scott

They made a move by signing Tre Scott, a standout from the G League, to an Exhibit 10 contract, according to information from Hoopshype.com’s Michael Scotto.

Tre Scott is poised to seize the opportunity to compete for a two-way contract within the Hornets‘ roster.

After going undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft, Scott has divided his time over the past couple of seasons between the G League and overseas competitions.

His limited NBA experience came during the 2021/22 season when he was signed on a 10-day contract by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In the previous season, Scott‘s engagements included stints with Fos Provence Basket in France, the Hornets’ G League affiliate team Greensboro Swarm and the Calgary Surge of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL).

During his time with the Swarm, he participated in 10 games, achieving averages of 17.4 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.

His shooting percentages were notable, including 53.8 percent from the field, 34 percent from beyond the arc and a perfect 100 percent from the free-throw line.
