Additionally, the alliance is set to feature 23 countries that are seeking entry into the bloc. With those countries having previously made membership requests.

40 Heads of State En Route to BRICS Summit

Of these 40 heads of state, the bloc has received informal or formal membership requests from 23 of them. These include countries like Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Iran, and Egypt. Subsequently, Brazil states that the guidelines or expansion are set to be discussed.
“They’ll talk about criteria and standards to be adopted to inform the entry of new members into the group,” the briefing stated. Additionally, they confirmed local currencies to be a vital talking point. Specifically, addressing the continued maneuver away from the US dollar.
