When it comes to being successful in the NFL, four-time MVP and Super Bowl XLV winner Aaron Rodgers know what it takes and he is excited about what he’s found after his move to the New York Jets.

He has immediately taken a leadership role up in his new team and believes that they can push high after a dramatic offseason.

“There is a lot of noise around us, and obviously my trade was a big story in the off-season,” he said in the first episode of One Jets Drive, a series focusing on the team’s training camp.

“A lot of people are talking about the New York Jets, which is exciting, how you want it. You want the expectations to be as high as possible.

“It’s been a while since I’ve been this excited. There’s a lot of reasons for that, but first and foremost there’s a lot to accomplish this year.

“To be talked about as one of those teams, now we have to go out and put it together and do it for 17 regular season weeks and then do it in the playoffs.”

“I like our chances and we’re going to have a lot of fun, I can promise you that.”

A whirlwind few months for Aaron Rodgers

The 39-year-old star has also been through plenty of changes in his personal life after making the move from Green Bay to New York.

Rodgers joined the Packers in the 2005 draft, and he is now adapting to a new city after 17 years in one place.

“The last few months have been a whirlwind for sure,” he admitted.

“After I declared I wanted to play for the Jets, there was a long waiting period so I was just working out, hanging out, waiting for things to happen. And once it happened, it went quick.

“Everything is new. It’s like the first day of school when you’re the new kid from out of town, and it’s exciting so definitely a lot of contemplation in the off-season about my life, my career, what I want to be moving forward, who I want to be moving forward.”

As part of that, Rodgers will be looking to add to his Super Bowl champion status from 2011.
