The ongoing debate regarding the NBA’s Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) is still going on and, while most analysts agree that Michael Jordan holds that title, the debate is reignited whenever a significant figure’s opinion surfaces.

This scenario occurred once again when Tim Grover, personal coach to legendary athletes such as Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, and Michael Jordan himself, shared his perspective.

During a recent presentation at Risecon 2023, Grover was asked about the finest basketball player in history, having to choose between Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

His response, as expected given his close association with Jordan over the years, garnered applause for the robustness of his reasons supporting Jordan.

“I’m gonna give you facts right now,” he noted.

“Something has happened only happened four times in the history of the NBA, when the regular season MVP and first team defensive player led the playoffs in scoring and won the MVP in the Finals.

“All of this has happened only four times in the NBA. Do you know who the four players are? Jordan. Jordan. Jordan. Jordan.”

To present his second point, the esteemed trainer conducted a symbolic experiment involving the audience and their footwear choices at that moment.

“If you own a pair of Jordans, or have a pair of Jordans, stand up…” he said.

“If you have a pair of LeBrons on, stand up.”

To reinforce his argument, Grover underscored the cultural significance of Jordan’s iconic line of sneakers.

“Here comes the mic drop right here,” he added.

“We’ve all heard the stories about individuals getting robbed of their Jordans, we’ve all heard the stories, right?

“Have you heard of any story of any stuck up for their LeBrons? There you go.”
