Google’s past relationship with blockchain and cryptocurrencies was characterized by complexity. This is including a cautious stance on the cryptocurrency market and a prohibition on cryptocurrency advertising on its platform. However, recent developments suggest a change in sentiment as the company has begun to embrace Web3 and cryptocurrency projects.

Google Cloud and the Celo Foundation have collaborated to run a validator on the Celo Network. This is according to a recent announcement by Google Cloud.

Google Cloud joins Deutsche Telekom and other contributors

With the new collaboration, Google Cloud will join Deutsche Telekom and other contributors in maintaining blockchain security and transaction verification, in working with the Celo Network.

The official press release also stated, “In order to streamline and accelerate the proposed transition to the Ethereum ecosystem, cLabs will leverage Google Cloud’s Blockchain Node Engine, a fully managed node-hosting service.”

In the past, the two entities collaborated to provide workshops and cloud computing services to developers and Web3 founders who were building on the Celo network. This demonstrates the continued effort of both parties to support and foster innovation within the blockchain and Web3 ecosystem.s
