Chapa Dimba Trio Boost Kayole Starlets Mid-Season Squad
Kayole Starlets have strengthened their squad for the second leg of the Kenya Premier League. The club has signed three players from the Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars team.
The trio includes goalkeeper Sonia Wambui, striker Calta Nasambu, and Naomi Nanjala. They have already joined the team.
All three players previously featured for Barcelona Ladies SC in Laikipia. The club competes in the National Super League.
They also trained in Huesca, Spain, during a bootcamp in September. Safaricom Chapa Dimba sponsored the training programme. In addition, they represented the Central Region at the national finals in Kisumu.
Naomi Nanjala said joining Kayole Starlets fulfils her dream of playing in the top league. She added that the tournament played a key role in her journey.
Sonia Wambui also praised the platform. She said Chapa Dimba goes beyond a normal tournament and creates real opportunities for young players.
The trio joins Eunice Nabwoba and Praxedes Shivikhwa in the squad. Both players also rose through the Chapa Dimba system.

Chapa Dimba Continues To Shape Kenyan Football Talent
Safaricom continues to grow football talent through the Chapa Dimba programme. More than 30 players from the latest season have joined clubs in the National Super League and the Kenya Premier League.
Notable players include Emily Morang’a, Duncan Omala, Derick Okech, and Bryton Otieno. Others are Mercy Akoth, Lorrine Illavonga, and Swaumu Masungo.
The tournament has also produced international players over the years. These include Jentrix Shikangwa and Benson Omala.
Coach Joshua Sakwa praised the impact of grassroots tournaments. He said they help identify and develop young talent. He added that several players in the squad came through Chapa Dimba.
Kayole Starlets currently sit seventh in the league. However, the team aims to finish in the top three this season.
Safaricom Chapa Dimba targets youth aged 16 to 20. It focuses on developing talent and creating pathways into professional football.
