However, the court postponed the bail hearing until Thursday to allow for the review of outstanding documents from the state.

The postponement of the hearing is intended to give prosecutors additional time to gather crucial documents and evidence, as seen in Bulawayo.

With both suspects at the heart of a high-profile judicial case, the outcome of the bail application may set the tone for the upcoming trial.

Bellarmine Mugabe and Tobias Tamirepi Matonhodze were arrested last month in connection with the shooting of a 23-year-old man at a house in Johannesburg’s affluent Hyde Park suburb.

According to an earlier report, the event occurred at a private home, where the victim was allegedly “shot in the back and collapsed outside the gate” while attempting to flee, and the gate was then locked, according to the National Prosecuting Authority.

During a search of the crime scene, law enforcement personnel discovered bullet cartridges that are now being used as evidence against Mugabe and his bodyguard.

In addition to the shooting, both men face accusations of obstructing justice, allegedly in connection with a missing weapon that officials are currently looking for.

Bellarmine Mugabe, 31, and his bodyguard, 33, have kept a low profile until this occurrence, but the matter has received major media interest due to Mugabe’s well-known family background.

Per the security sources, the episode has spurred a thorough investigation into the shooting’s circumstances and the suspects’ involvement.

Similar to Bellarmine Mugabe, another of Robert Mugabe’s sons, Robert Mugabe Jr., got into trouble with the law.

Robert Mugabe Jr, son of Zimbabwe’s late president, leaves court after being charged with cannabis possession.

Robert Mugabe Jr was apprehended in Harare in October of last year after law enforcement officials stated that cannabis was discovered in his possession during a routine traffic stop.
