The Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority (EWSETA), invites media to attend the KwaZamokuhle G20 Clean Cooking Legacy Programme – Household Pack Distribution event, where 1000 clean cooking starter packs will be distributed to beneficiary households, providing affordable, safer and more accessible cooking solutions.

The Clean Cooking Outcome is the only Energy Transition Working Group outcome to have been endorsed by all G20 member states, giving clean cooking unprecedented global momentum.
This initiative forms part of South Africa’s G20 Clean Cooking Legacy Programme, transitioning from a global commitment to practical, on-the-ground solutions that directly address the energy poverty faced by households.

The event will be attended by the Deputy Minister of Electricity & Energy, Mrs Samantha Jane Graham-Maré, as well as senior government officials, local leadership, and key industry partners. EWSET A will be represented by the Acting CEO, the Executive Management team and Board members.

Members of the media are cordially invited to attend and cover the event.

Event Details

  • Date: Tuesday, 27 January 2026
  • Time: 09H00 – 15H00
  • Venue: Hendrina – KwaZamokuhle, Mpumalanga

Implemented in partnership with government and private sector stakeholders, the initiative looks beyond improved household energy access and demonstrates how clean cooking can serve as a driver of skills development and job creation. Through youth training, entrepreneurship opportunities, and the establishment of last-mile LPG distribution infrastructure, the programme aims to create sustainable economic opportunities while supporting ongoing service delivery at community level.
