Canadian national remanded for cannabis related offences

The Barbados Police Service has arrested and charged a Canadian national for the importation of cannabis, among other drug-related offences.

Halston Norman Spence, 61, of 4180 Brandon Gates Drive, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, has been charged with the following offences, committed on October 26, 2025:

The total estimated weight of the suspected cannabis is 31.6 kilograms, with an estimated street value of $252,800 BDS.

Spence appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick in the District ‘F’ Magistrates’ Court today, where he pleaded not guilty to the offences.

He was remanded to the Barbados Prison Service (Dodds).

The matter has been transferred to the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court for Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
