LG Launches Energy-Saving Dishwashers in Kenya
Designed for Modern Kenyan Homes
LG Electronics has introduced a new line of high-performance dishwashers in Kenya, expanding its smart home range in East Africa.
The launch in Nairobi featured three models, two stand-alone units in Matte Black and Platinum Silver, and one built-in model designed for modern urban homes.
The launch comes at a time when Kenya’s domestic technology market is rapidly growing. According to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, nearly one-third of Kenyans now live in urban areas.
With more working families and smaller spaces, demand for compact and time-saving appliances is rising.
Speaking at the event, LG Electronics East Africa Regional Marketing Head, Jane Kariuki, said the company focused on local insights.
“These products are the result of research and listening to Kenyan families. We are introducing a smarter way of living where technology supports daily life,” she said.

Focus on Water and Energy Efficiency
The new range features LG’s TrueSteam technology, which uses high-temperature steam to remove stains and water spots. It delivers cleaner dishes with less water.
The Auto Open Dry feature opens the door at the end of the wash cycle to speed up drying and cut energy use.
LG says the dishwashers save up to 566% more water compared to handwashing. They also use inverter technology that adjusts electricity consumption based on load size, helping to lower utility bills.
Designed for Every Home
LG’s Home Solutions Product Marketing Manager for East Africa said the models fit different home layouts.
“The built-in options work well for tight spaces, while the freestanding units offer flexibility for larger households,” he said.
Analysts note that Kenya’s dishwasher market is still new but expanding quickly. Urbanization, higher incomes, and changing lifestyles are driving growth. By offering localized products, LG hopes to lead this segment.
The company has posted double-digit growth in its home appliances division for three years and expects the new line to boost sales further.
LG also reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability. All three models meet EU energy standards and use recyclable materials. This supports Kenya’s Vision 2030 goals on green living and sustainable urban development.
Retail partners expressed optimism about demand. The dishwashers are already available through LG Brand Shops, online stores, and major electronics retailers. LG is targeting individual buyers as well as corporate clients such as developers, hotels, and serviced apartments.
