To tackle Nigeria’s escalating housing shortfall, the esteemed Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has implored real estate developers to exhibit a stronger dedication to offering affordable housing solutions for the populace.

Adams made this passionate plea during a courtesy call at Harmony Garden and Estate Development Ltd in Lagos, where he evaluated various ongoing projects and engaged in thoughtful discussions regarding sustainable housing and cultural advancement.

During the visit, Adams explored Harmony Garden’s pivotal projects, including GranVille, The Parliament, Lekki Aviation Town, and Majestic Bay, all meticulously crafted under the Ibile Traditional Mortgage System and the Harmony Renewed Hope Mortgage System. These visionary initiatives strive to enhance home ownership accessibility for Nigerians, particularly those in low- and middle-income brackets.

Praising the company’s innovative approach, Adams expressed that his visit had imbued him with confidence that certain developers are earnestly striving to close Nigeria’s housing divide.

He remarked, “What I’ve witnessed here today transcends mere structures; it embodies a vision that resonates with the Yoruba ethos of excellence, community, and heritage. Harmony Garden exemplifies that development can harmoniously integrate both contemporary ingenuity and our cultural values.

“Developers must transcend the mere pursuit of profit. Housing constitutes a fundamental human right, and those within the industry bear a responsibility to forge solutions that render humane living conditions affordable for everyday Nigerians.”

The Chief Executive Officer of Harmony Garden, Dr. Saheed Audullahi Mosadoluwa, who personally guided the inspection, characterized the visit as a privilege and an affirmation of the company’s mission to intertwine innovation with tradition.

He stated, “Our projects are conceived to fulfill national housing demands while upholding cultural identity. Our emphasis is not solely on constructing developments but on shaping a future that Nigerians can proudly claim as their own.”

“The Ibile Traditional Mortgage System and Harmony Renewed Hope Mortgage System are created to ensure that even young professionals and skilled artisans can access housing financing without being burdened by traditional loan constraints.”

“Our collaboration with cultural luminaries like Iba Gani Adams fortifies our determination to embed traditional values within contemporary real estate practices. This kind of partnership rekindles confidence in the belief that home ownership in Nigeria is within reach.”

The meeting concluded with a private dialogue between Adams and Mosadoluwa regarding collaborative opportunities, primarily focused on advancing affordable housing, youth empowerment, and the preservation of culture within the real estate sector.
