The United Asian Network (UAN) hosted its Leadership Summit 2.0 at the Swaminarayan Temple on Forest Road. The summit, themed “Strengthening Kenyan Asian Engagement & Unity,” brought together influential leaders to shape the community’s role in Kenya’s economy and civic life.

Moving from Dialogue to Action

Building on the inaugural 2024 summit, this year’s gathering went beyond dialogue. Leaders focused on practical strategies for national engagement, economic repositioning, and youth leadership.

The agenda featured three tracks:

  • National Engagement: Fostering unity and collective nation-building.

  • Economic Connector: Exploring opportunities to reposition businesses in Kenya’s evolving economy.

  • Social & Youth: Highlighting new forms of leadership and the contributions of Kenyan Asians.

Key Leaders and Insights

Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa was the Chief Guest, while KEPSA and KEPROBA Chair Jas Bedi delivered the keynote. The program also featured CBK Chairman Andrew Musangi and DTB Group CEO Nasim Devji in a panel on national diversity.

Jas Bedi urged businesses to adapt: “We need to reshape our business models to thrive in the changing world order, shifting multilateralism, and the evolving rules-based trading system.”

Peter Ndegwa emphasized inclusion: “The summit is a timely reminder of the strength we gain from diversity. The Asian community is an integral part of Kenya’s fabric, known for enterprise and resilience. But beyond success lies an opportunity to deepen integration and shape our shared destiny.”

A Call for Unity and Progress

The summit highlighted the growing importance of collaboration between Kenya’s Asian and African communities. Leaders stressed that unity, purpose-driven leadership, and inclusive growth will define the nation’s progress in the years ahead.
