Jubilee Live Free Race 2025 Launches in Nairobi
Jubilee Insurance and the Grand Nairobi Bike Race (GNBR) have officially announced the launch of the 2025 Jubilee Live Free Race, a premier cycling event that continues to attract global attention.
The much-anticipated race will take place on Sunday, 5th October 2025 at Nyayo Stadium, bringing together over 3,500 cyclists representing more than 20 nationalities.
Jubilee Insurance remains the title sponsor, committing KES 20 million towards the event this year, raising its total investment to over KES 100 million in cash and in-kind support since 2022.
Since its inception in 2021, the race has grown significantly, providing a competitive platform for cyclists while serving as an impactful advocacy tool for physical activity, holistic wellbeing, and environmental conservation efforts.

Promoting Wellness, Inclusivity, and Environmental Impact
The 2025 edition will place a strong emphasis on promoting physical mobility for children and advancing environmental protection in marginalized communities across Kenya.
Statistics from the National Association of Orthopedic Technologists show that between 700 and 800 people lose a limb in Kenya annually, yet only one in four amputees has access to a prosthetic limb.
With diabetes cases rising, the number of amputations is projected to grow, making this support more urgent than ever before.
In addition to mobility initiatives, the race will focus on environmental stewardship by planting kitchen gardens, food towers, and fruit trees, while restoring water towers in marginalized community schools.
These projects aim to create healthier spaces, boost food security for needy schools, and secure long-term environmental benefits for future generations.
Jubilee Insurance Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Caroline Ndungu, said the Jubilee Live Free Race has evolved into a movement that advances wellness, inclusivity, and lasting community impact through sport.
She emphasized that the event has grown in scale, diversity, and influence, highlighting the transformative power of cycling to unite communities and create opportunities for healthier living.
The race will feature competitive and recreational categories, including the Main Race (75 km), Black Mamba (45 km), Para Cycling (45 km), Family Fun Ride (15 km), and Kiddie Race. Winners in competitive categories will share KES 4 million in cash prizes, in addition to various in-kind recognitions.
Grand Nairobi Bike Race Director, Desmond Momanyi, described the Jubilee Live Free Race as a homegrown event that has evolved into a truly global sporting attraction.
He noted that strategic partnerships with the Kenya Cycling Federation, Kenya Urban Roads Authority, and the County Government of Nairobi have been instrumental in elevating the event’s profile, enabling it to drive important discussions on wellness, inclusivity, and environmental responsibility.
