Amazon continues to pursue its ambition to introduce robots into its factories and logistics services, with the number of robots inside its warehouses in Japan reaching one million, a new achievement for the company.
Amazon’s robots work alongside the company’s more than 1.5 million human workers around the world. More impressively, the robots are similarly nearing the 1.5 million mark.
Currently, the robots are deployed in more than 300 global Amazon, creating an ever-expanding automated delivery network.
Amazon has also unveiled DeepFleet, a generative AI (GenAI) foundation model designed to boost the efficiency of its robotic fleet by 10%, streamlining movement across its fulfillment network to accelerate deliveries and reduce costs.
Amazon’s ambition goes beyond utilizing robots in factories. This milestone marks a major step in its automation strategy, with future plans to expand into delivery and home-use robotics.
