In celebration of International Artificial Intelligence Appreciation Day, This is Digital hosted an engaging AI Appreciation Breakfast under the theme “The Age of AI: A Reality Check” on July 16, 2025, at The Social House in Nairobi.

The exclusive breakfast event brought together a curated group of thought leaders, creatives, and professionals to explore the impact of artificial intelligence on African societies.

Panel discussions focused on how AI is reshaping sectors such as healthcare, marketing, content creation, and human resource development.

Speakers highlighted the benefits of AI, while also addressing the ethical and social challenges that come with it.

This is Digital Launches AI Literacy Drive in Kenya

AI Literacy Program to Equip the Next Generation

Building on the momentum of the event, This is Digital will launch a comprehensive AI Literacy Program starting August 5, 2025. The program will help professionals, students, entrepreneurs, and educators understand and apply AI in meaningful ways.

Program highlights include:

  • Online Bootcamps (August 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th) – every Tuesday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

  • In-Person Bootcamp – August 27th to 29th, 2025

  • Monthly Cohorts – Ongoing sessions for continuous learning, both online and in-person

Kenya ranks 6th in Africa for AI readiness, according to the 2024 Oxford Insights AI Readiness Index. The country is well-positioned to lead in building AI skills that respond to its local and regional needs.

This program aims to equip participants not only to adopt AI tools but also to contribute to shaping Africa’s tech-driven future.
