Ethio telecom has successfully completed the Smart Court project, designed to modernize the Amhara Regional Supreme Court’s judicial system through digital technology. The project is now fully operational and ready for public service.

The launch event, held in Bahir Dar, was attended by senior federal and regional government officials. Ethio telecom was recognized for completing the project within a short timeframe and for its role in enabling a modern, accessible, and efficient justice system in the region.

Build Up: Ethio telecom, Amhara Supreme Court to Launch Smart Court Project

The initiative connects regional courts with a secure and reliable digital infrastructure, aimed at reducing administrative delays and improving service delivery for citizens. The solution is expected to extend further to cover Woredas and Kebeles, making digital justice services available at the grassroots level.

The agreement to implement the Smart Court project was signed in Bahir Dar in January 2025 between Ethio telecom and the Amhara Regional Supreme Court. The initiative contributes directly to Ethiopia’s broader digital transformation goals under the Digital Ethiopia 2025 framework.

Ethio telecom expressed appreciation to the Amhara Regional Government, the President and leadership of the Supreme Court, and all technical teams involved in the project. The company also stated it remains committed to supporting national efforts to modernize public service delivery through advanced digital solutions.
