Jobberman Nigeria, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, is championing diversity and inclusion as it heads to Kano to empower Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) with relevant business and career skills.

The upcoming forum, themed Empowered to Achieve More, is scheduled for Saturday, 26th April 2025, at Amani Events Centre, No. 3 Tamandu Road, Kano State. This special gathering aims to create a supportive space where PWDs can connect with peers, learn from experienced professionals, and acquire practical strategies to grow their careers and businesses.

At Jobberman, we believe in creating opportunities for everyone. For far too long, the narrative around PWDs has been centred on limitation, but this is changing. Across Nigeria, individuals with disabilities are leading, innovating, and succeeding. Through initiatives like this forum, Jobberman is committed to amplifying their stories, driving inclusive conversations, and equipping PWDs with the tools to achieve their goals.

This event aligns with our broader mission to reduce unemployment in Nigeria, by connecting jobseekers to quality jobs, and ensuring that every individual is equipped with the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

What to Expect

The forum promises an impactful lineup of sessions tailored for entrepreneurs and career professionals:

  • Keynote Address
Empowered to Achieve More will be delivered by Dr. Binta Bala, PhD, setting the tone for the day’s empowering conversations.
  • Panel Discussion
Speakers will discuss the unique challenges faced by Persons with Disabilities and how these can be transformed into opportunities for career and business growth.

    Panel Speakers Include:

    • Engr. Musa Shaga – Chairman JONAPWD Kano State
    • Hajiya Mariya, Leader, Albino Foundation
    • Hussaina Umar, Deputy Director, Kanawa Educational Foundation for the Disabled
  • One-on-One Mentorship Sessions
Early attendees will have access to personalised CV reviews, career counselling, and business advisory clinics. These sessions will be handled by experienced HR practitioners and practising PWD entrepreneurs.

Whether you’re a job seeker, budding entrepreneur, or looking to scale your business, this forum offers practical value in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

If you know a person with a disability in Kano looking to grow their career or business, share this opportunity with them.
