A diverse group of stakeholders—including real estate developers, policymakers, lawmakers, financial providers, building materials manufacturers, construction professionals, and politicians—are coming together to develop practical solutions to the challenges facing affordable housing development in Nigeria.

Additionally, they will take advantage of the upcoming African International Housing Show to discuss the factors hindering home ownership among citizens.

Experts will directly address issues such as the complexities of planning and building approvals, title issuance, the rising costs of building materials, the influx of unqualified builders in the industry, and the growing urban population.

Set to begin on July 27th, this gathering in Abuja aims to generate actionable solutions that ease the financial strain on residents and foster inclusive urban development.

It is important to note that Nigeria currently faces an estimated housing deficit of 22 million units.

To address this issue, the Nigerian government estimates that approximately N21 trillion is required.
