The company on 26 March said the selection followed a rigorous evaluation process “and underscores the increasing demand for cutting-edge airspace security solutions in Africa, as drone threats continue to escalate across the region.”

“During extensive field trials, Sentrycs’ system exceeded operational requirements, delivering detection and mitigation capabilities that surpassed specifications by 50%,” the company said.

“This project is a testament to the reliability and effectiveness of our technology in addressing today’s most pressing security challenges,” said Alon Shantzer, VP of Sales at Sentrycs. “We are proud to support national security efforts in Africa with a cutting-edge, field-proven counter-UAS solution that ensures airspace protection without disrupting critical communication infrastructure.”

Sentrycs’ autonomous and integrated counter-drone solution identifies drones in the vicinity of a perimeter, using a 24/7 monitoring system. Drones as well as their operator are located, while friendly drones can be added to the allowed list according to their serial (tail) number. To counter a drone threat, Sentrycs can automatically take over the controls from the operator, navigating the drone to a predefined location, then landing it there safely. It can also disconnect a drone from its controller, causing the drone to remain in a hover or automatically return home.

Sentrycs offers fixed site, portable, and vehicle-mounted mobile counter-drone solutions. The latter allows for the protection of convoys, vessels, special forces etc.

Founded in 2017 with offices in Israel and the United States, Sentrycs has its solutions deployed in over 20 countries. Its custom-built counter-drone solutions are designed for various environments, including airports, borders, prisons, critical infrastructure, and mass events.
