Safaricom reaffirmed its commitment to Kenya’s creative economy by hosting the highly anticipated M-PESA at 18 Concert.

Happy 18Th Birthday M_PESA! A Transformative Journey Of Technology

More than 12,000 attendees gathered at Uhuru Park for the 18-hour celebration, which featured over 35 top artists and a dedicated crew of 211.

The event surpassed all expectations, reinforcing Safaricom’s role as Kenya’s biggest supporter of the entertainment industry.

The electrifying concert marked M-PESA’s evolution and expressed gratitude to its customers.

Safaricom prioritized security, deploying 800 trained personnel and offering discounted transport to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.

Local businesses benefited as 30 vendors sold food, drinks, apparel, and services. Safaricom also partnered with 10 agencies, mobilizing over 800 resources to bring the event to life.

“We are thrilled with the success of the M-PESA 18 and Over Concert. This event not only marks our 18th birthday but also highlights M-PESA’s role in driving economic growth and transforming financial transactions. We are proud to celebrate this milestone with the people who made it possible,” said Safaricom CEO Dr. Peter Ndegwa.

Kenya’s biggest artists delivered unforgettable performances, representing various genres.

The night ended with a spectacular 30-minute fireworks display.

M-PESA’s success story continues, and this milestone event underscores Safaricom’s dedication to innovation and economic impact in Kenya.
