Oshkosh Defense has introduced an advanced version of its ROGUE-Fires vehicle-mounted rocket system, now featuring the same family of munitions used on the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS).

The ROGUE-Fires (Remotely Operated Ground Unit for Expeditionary Fires) is a reconfigurable, unmanned system designed to deliver long-range, high-impact fire support in modern combat.

Capable of launching multiple rockets quickly and efficiently, it offers superior versatility for dynamic battlefield scenarios.

According to Oshkosh, integrating the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Family of Munitions (MFOM) into ROGUE-Fires validates the system’s payload-agnostic design, demonstrating its capability to support a diverse range of munitions and mission needs.

“We are excited to showcase ROGUE-Fires with MFOM highlighting its potential to deliver cutting-edge, technologically advanced, surface-to-surface fires,” said Pat Williams, chief programs officer at Oshkosh.

The new system will be displayed at the 2025 AUSA Global Force Symposium later this week.

Supporting the ‘Army of 2030’

Built on the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle platform, the ROGUE-Fires is engineered for long-range precision fires and autonomous resupply operations.

Its powertrain can be adapted to hybrid-electric configurations, enabling silent operation for covert missions.

Integrating HIMARS munitions into the unmanned system reportedly underscores Oshkosh’s commitment to developing scalable solutions that support the Army of 2030 initiative.

This initiative is designed to modernize the US military to meet the demands of future warfare, with a focus on human-machine integration.

“As the battlefield continues to evolve, we are leveraging the mature and proven Oshkosh families of vehicles to design payload-agnostic autonomous platforms that deliver unmatched flexibility, enabling forces to outpace emerging threats and maintain operational dominance,” Williams stated.
