Stable and inexpensive fuel costs insulate economies from the volatility of global oil markets, currency devaluation, and subsidy reductions, resulting in a more predictable economic climate.

One of the most obvious advantages is a lower cost of living. In countries where millions rely on public transportation, economical gasoline keeps rates low, allowing workers, students, and enterprises to commute without financial hardship.

Furthermore, low transportation costs maintain food prices by lowering the cost of transporting items, making basic commodities more accessible to households.

Low gasoline costs retain customers’ spending power in nations where inflation may be concerning, allowing households to spend more on vital products and services while maintaining their quality of life.

Businesses, particularly in logistics, manufacturing, and agriculture, prosper in an atmosphere where fuel is affordable.

Small businesses, which frequently rely on fuel-powered generators owing to intermittent electrical supplies, also benefit greatly. Lower gasoline prices result in lower operating expenses, allowing these firms to stay profitable and sustainable.

Ultimately, keeping petrol prices low promotes economic growth, increases affordability, and improves inhabitants’ general quality of life, making it an important benefit for any African country.

With that said, here are the African countries with the least expensive fuel prices currently, as per data from GlobalPetrolPrices which tags the current global average of petrol price as of 17th of February at 1.26 U.S. Dollars per liter, as opposed to $1.23 per liter recorded last month.

Compared to the top 10 list last month, fuel prices for Libya, Angola, Algeria, Tunisia, Liberia, and Gabon all increased slightly.

While fuel prices for Egypt, Nigeria, and Ethiopia saw a reduction. Gabon’s fuel price remained the same.
